To reach the mountains and enjoy a true Alpine flying experience, we recommend booking at least our “Swiss Alps Scenic Flight”.

Our shorter 30-minute discovery flights mainly focus on Lake Geneva, Geneva and Lausanne. To admire majestic Alpine peaks, mountain valleys and spectacular scenery up close, a flight of approximately 60 minutes or longer is required.

Each SkyLéman flight accommodates up to two passengers in addition to the pilot. This provides a private and personalized experience, ideal for couples, friends or family members.

What aircraft is used for SkyLéman scenic flights?

Flights are operated aboard a Piper PA28-180 Cherokee, a single-engine light aircraft offering comfortable seating and excellent views of the surrounding landscapes. Aviation headsets are provided for communication during the flight.

Will I have a window seat?

Yes! Both passengers have a window view, allowing you to enjoy and photograph the landscapes throughout your scenic flight. Seating arrangements are determined by the pilot according to aircraft loading requirements.

Can I take photos and videos during the flight?

Absolutely! Photography and video recording are welcome throughout the flight, provided your equipment is used safely and does not interfere with the pilot or aircraft controls.

Can the aircraft windows or doors be opened during flight?

No. For safety reasons, the aircraft windows and doors must remain closed during flight.

How can I book a scenic flight with SkyLéman?

To book your private scenic flight, simply contact us through the booking form on www.skyleman.ch. Let us know your preferred itinerary, number of passengers and possible dates. We will get back to you to arrange your flying experience.

How far in advance should I book my flight?

We recommend contacting us a few weeks in advance, particularly during weekends and the summer season. Ideally, provide two possible dates, including a backup date in case weather conditions are unsuitable.

When are scenic flights available?

SkyLéman offers scenic flights throughout the year, from Monday to Sunday, weather permitting. Every season offers a unique experience: colorful landscapes in autumn, snow-covered Alpine peaks in winter, beautiful contrasts between glaciers and green valleys in spring, and spectacular mountain scenery in summer. Weekday bookings generally offer greater flexibility.

What is the best time of day for a scenic flight?

Morning flights are generally recommended during summer, when weather conditions are often more stable. Afternoon thunderstorms and cloud development can make flying more challenging during warmer months. The ideal departure time depends on the season, weather forecast and chosen itinerary.

What are the weather and operational requirements for a scenic flight?

All flights are subject to suitable weather conditions, aircraft availability and operational requirements. The pilot makes the final decision regarding departure, routing and flight safety. Weather decisions are generally made one or two days before the scheduled flight.

Are scenic flights carried out in any weather?

No. Scenic flights are only conducted when weather conditions are suitable for safe flying and an enjoyable experience. Visibility, cloud cover, wind and other meteorological factors are carefully assessed before departure to ensure both passenger safety and the best possible flying experience.

What happens if my scenic flight is cancelled due to bad weather?

Safety always comes first. If weather conditions are unsuitable, we will contact you to arrange another flight date, ideally your previously agreed backup date, or issue a gift voucher valid for 12 months.

What is your cancellation and refund policy?

Purchased flights are non-refundable. If a flight cannot take place due to unsuitable weather conditions, we can arrange another date or issue a voucher valid for 12 months, according to our booking conditions.

Are there any restrictions on departure times?

Flights can generally be arranged throughout the day, subject to weather conditions, aircraft availability and airfield operating restrictions. Please note that departures are not possible between 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM due to local airfield regulations.

Do you offer group discounts for scenic flights?

No, we do not currently offer discounts for our scenic flights or excursions. However, companies and organizations are welcome to contact us to discuss corporate gifts and special experiences.

4. Passengers, Children, Health & Safety.

Can children join a scenic flight?

​Yes! Children are welcome aboard SkyLéman flights. We recommend a minimum age of 4 years for short scenic flights of approximately 30 minutes and 6 years for longer Alpine flights of 60 minutes or more. Children must be accompanied by an adult, and parental consent is required for minors.

We do not recommend scenic flights for babies or children under 4 years old, as changes in altitude may cause ear discomfort. Children should also be genuinely enthusiastic about the experience.

Are there any height or weight restrictions?

The maximum passenger height is 195 cm, and the individual weight limit is 105 kg. Passenger weights must be provided before the flight to ensure the aircraft operates within its approved weight and balance limits.

Can I fly if I am pregnant or have a medical condition?

If you are pregnant or have a medical condition, particularly involving your heart, back or ears, we recommend consulting your doctor or midwife before booking. Please inform us of any relevant concerns so we can discuss whether the flight is suitable.

Is flying in a light aircraft safe?

Safety is our highest priority. Our Piper Cherokee is maintained in accordance with applicable aviation requirements, and every flight is subject to weather, aircraft performance and operational safety considerations. As with any aviation activity, flying involves inherent risks. The pilot makes the final decision regarding departure and the flight route.

How should I prepare for my scenic flight?

We recommend having a light snack approximately two hours before your flight rather than flying on an empty stomach. Dress comfortably and appropriately for the weather and season. If you are prone to motion sickness, please inform your pilot before departure. Airsickness bags are available on board.

What should I bring for my scenic flight?

We recommend bringing sunglasses, a camera or smartphone, comfortable clothing and your enthusiasm! Aviation headsets are provided. Please avoid bringing unnecessary baggage, as space and weight are limited aboard the aircraft.

Can I bring luggage on board?

Space and weight capacity aboard our light aircraft are limited. Please contact us in advance if you need to bring luggage. All baggage must be approved by the pilot before departure. Depending on availability, some belongings may be left at the clubhouse.

Where do SkyLéman scenic flights depart from?

All SkyLéman scenic flights depart from La Côte Aerodrome (LSGP), Route de l'Aérodrome 71, 1197 Prangins, Switzerland. The airfield is located near Nyon, between Geneva and Lausanne, making it easily accessible from the Lake Geneva region.

How can I reach Prangins airfield from Geneva or Lausanne?

You can travel by train to Nyon from Geneva or Lausanne, then take a taxi or Uber to La Côte Aerodrome, approximately 10 minutes from Nyon railway station.

​

Do you provide transportation to and from Prangins airfield?

Transfers from Nyon railway station may be arranged upon prior request, subject to our availability. Alternatively, taxis and Uber services are available from the station.

​

Is parking available at the airfield?

Yes! Free parking is available at La Côte Aerodrome in Prangins, close to the meeting point for your scenic flight.

​

What time should I arrive before my flight?

Please arrive approximately 30 minutes before your scheduled departure. Your pilot will welcome you, explain the flight itinerary and provide a safety briefing before boarding.
